Àmù Orí, meaning “vessel of a head” in Yorùbá, merges the regal presence and spiritual stillness of Nigeria’s Ifẹ̀ terracotta heads with the resistance-rooted face jugs of the American South. By offering this piece to the Kaabo Clay fundraiser, I honor the legacy of our ancestors and call on their wisdom to help nurture a future generation of African-descended creators.
